Valid solution improves surgical procedures and improves patient safety Back

New advances in identification and tracking of surgical instruments, technology for reducing investments, improving the release time of operating rooms and increasing patient safety will be presented by Valid at the 12th Brazilian Conference on Nursing in Operating Rooms, Recovery from Anesthesia, and Materials and Sterilization Centers, organized by SOBECC, from September 22 to 25 at the Palácio das Convenções do Anhembi, in Sao Paulo.

During the event—the largest in the industry—the company, which has a global presence in the areas of mobile solutions, identity solutions, payment solutions, digital certification and digital marketing, will be giving a presentation on its instrument identification solution which uses stainless steel shielded nanocircuits, integrated into a software package for materials and sterilization center management: the ID Arsenal. RFID nanocircuits, which use radio-frequency identification, are compatible with all hospital sterilization processes, and can be used under extreme conditions.

With Valid’s solution, the process for registering and tracking surgical instruments is completely automated, and meets Anvisa standards and OMS regulations. At its booth at the conference, the company will be doing a demonstration of the smart (RFID) labels that can be applied to surgical instruments, and the real-time operation of the management software.

According to Adriano Franki, Commercial Superintendent of Valid’s Payment Solutions group, the technology helps to reduce investments, improve the release time of operating rooms, and increase patient safety during the surgical procedure. Mr. Franki also points out that the system includes a real-time workflow tracker for sterilization, which lends legal validity to the process.
